FAQ

What are my rights after a crash?

In Ohio, you can seek compensation for your damages if you were hurt in a car accident caused by another’s negligence. You have the right to get paid for the damage done to your vehicle, any time off work you have had to take as a result of the accident, medical bills, and your pain and suffering, for the ways your life has been affected.  Insurance companies will bombard you, trying to get you to settle for far less than you are entitled to. You have the right to have someone negotiate for you, with your interests at heart. Kats Law can help.

How do I find my police report?
Police reports are public record, and can be obtained through the Police Department where the accident occurred.  Often in small municipalities the police report is available the next day and can be accessed through an online portal. Large cities generally require 10-14 days before accident reports are published.  Are you looking to get your police report faster or having trouble tracking it down? Call Kats Law, we will help you obtain the report so your rights are protected!

-You have the right to be reimbursed for your medical bills

-You have the right to be reimbursed for anything lost or damaged in the accident

What happens if I am in a car accident and the other party does not have insurance?

If you are in a car accident where the other driver has no, or too little, insurance, you may still be able to recover compensation to pay for your losses. However, most insurance companies limit the amount of time policyholders have to make uninsured or underinsured motorist claims, so you want to start the process as soon as possible.  Call Kats Law and we will investigate every possible opportunity, so you do not lose your rights!

How much money is typically collected in personal injury and car accident cases?

Every settlement is different as every person is different. The ways in which your life is affected may be vastly different from the ways in which other people’s lives are affected. This can greatly affect the range of compensation received. Consulting with a lawyer early on in the process can help ensure you recover the maximum amount for your damages.

How do I deal with paying medical bills and medical claims?

Many medical providers will accept a letter from an attorney in order to forego initial billing cycles and wait for recovery from an insurance company. Insurance policies sometimes include “medical payments” which will assist in paying medical bills while you obtain treatment and a lawyer negotiates your settlement.

BEWARE!!!!!! Health Insurance or Medical Payment coverage have the right to be reimbursed.  Call Kats Law so we can help you identify those parties!  You don’t want to owe money after being injured!
